A new year and we are ready to plan our bookings for 2018! We have three lovely cottages in an idyllic setting on the edge of the Touraine Vineyards and 4 minutes drive from the prettiest chateau in France!

We are in Vrigny for 10 days to pick up this years walnuts and to pick apples!
The grape harvest begins tomorrow, sadly frost in the spring tie, heat of June and not enough rain to swell the grapes has resulted in a small quantity harvest but hopefully the quality of the wine will be outstanding!
We have had over 70 bookings this year for our three cottages in Vrigny – thank you to everyone who came, we hope to see you again soon!
We have vacancies in the autumn and also over Christmas and the New Year and please remember this is a great place to come in the winter! The Chateaux are open all the year round, and spend the evenings tucked up in front of a wood burner or open fire with a glass of wine and some french cheese!
Just back after a lovely quiet two weeks in Maison Doiseau – our home in the Loire Valley near Chenonceau – just what we needed after being held up in the Walfdorf in New York during Hurricane Sandy!
We so enjoyed our stay, pottering around tidying up ready for winter, going out in the afternoons, I am pleased to have come home with 7 little oil paintings for my exhibition in March (see annpalmerartist.com )
The weather was classic for November – mists and mellow fruitfullness! Autumn colours to die for! We have made some excellent finds – we lunched again at L’Orangerie the first class restaurant at the Chateau in Chenoneaux. An excellent meal was had at Toque et Vins in Montlouis – I had Foie Gras with Lobster, then Chevreuil (a small deer) and John ate Ris de Veau with Ecrevises (crayfish) and then Pigeon. We were treated handsomely with amuse bouches to go with our cocktail maison then an oyster in saffron sauce – before our main meal arrived. We drank an excellent Chinon. We have also found several new vignerons in Bourgeuil – you will see there details on my leaflet when you book.
