September 2017 in Vrigny

We are in Vrigny for 10 days to pick up this years walnuts and to pick apples!

The grape harvest begins tomorrow, sadly frost in the spring tie, heat of June and not enough rain to swell the grapes has resulted in a small quantity harvest but hopefully the quality of the wine will be outstanding!

We have had over 70 bookings this year for our three cottages in Vrigny – thank you to everyone who came, we hope to see you again soon!

We have vacancies in the autumn and also over Christmas and the New Year and please remember this is a great place to come in the winter! The Chateaux are open all the year round, and spend the evenings tucked up in front of a wood burner or open fire with a glass of wine and some french cheese!

Ann Palmer is a landscape painter based in Rochester, Kent and in the Loire Valley chateau and vineyard region where she owns cottages to rent. She works ‘en plein air’ in oils in Kent and in Touraine in the Loire Valley; her subject matter includes the valleys and coasts of Kent and the vineyards and Chateaux of France. Ann works quickly, resulting in a freshness which is impressionistic yet creates a clarity of subject and defines the mood of the day. Ann uses artist quality oils on acrylic primed MDF using both brushwork and palette knife.
